BRB, on maternity leave: See you in 2022!

About

Hi, I am Jomaine (more widely known as Jo) and a clay artist born, bred and based in Singapore.

The constant need to create with my hands results in a range of products—from pottery homewares, clay jewellery, sticker illustrations, and even miniature pottery wares. Apart from making, equipping like-minded creatives through workshops was part of what I do too; until COVID hit.

Largely inspired by colours and patterns in the every day, my creations aim to bring about good vibes and playful times!

It all begain in 2014, where I self-taught and began making and selling my polymer clay necklaces. Over the years, I have dabbled across different mediums that can support my creative needs. Today, I have settled with ceramics—a medium that I first started when I was 10 years old, as part of my primary school co-curricular activity. Revisiting ceramics brings back memories and the familiarity of digging my nails into the earth, creating products that can last a few lifetimes. Since, I have created homewares of regular and miniature sizes, largely still exploring and learning this limitless craft.

While working under the moniker Average Jo, I have collaborated with brands like Rockstar, Fictive Fingers, Naiise, and Uniqlo Singapore, while having carried out public workshops with The Letter J Supply, Itchy Fingers and IKI Makers Union, on top of hens parties and company cohesions.

As a strong advocate of collaborations, I am constantly open to new ideas and more importantly, creating new friendships! Write in if you would like to chat ;)
